About the World Food Map
The World Food Map is an interactive display of foods of the world. It is the result of the first systematic identification of the most commonly consumed foods in each country. They were compiled with the input of more than 950 key informants around the world. In most cases, species or processed products are displayed rather than prepared dishes. These foods were compiled by the Global Diet Quality Project and are used in country-adapted surveys of diet quality.
The World Food Map is implemented by Wageningen University & Research, and funding for the World Food Map was generously provided by The Rockefeller Foundation.
